One of my favorite clients just had their second baby, a little boy named Nolan. They hired me a few years ago to document their older son Liam's first year a life (click here for more info --> Baby's 1st Year) so I was thrilled to hear from them when they called me to do the same thing with little Nolan. Baby boy was a tiny 8 days old when I went by. My husband and I have two little boys and have decided that we're done... but oh.my.golly. I am a sucker for a newborn! I spend a little time with one, snuggling and taking pictures of their itty bitty-ness and I'm completely smitten. Then I start thinking that maybe I want another one... aaaaaaanndd then I hit my front door and I'm greeted by two amazing yet extremely energetic boys and for some reason I'm knocked right back into reality! This little guy - he is just perfect. I honestly don't think I heard him make a peep the entire time I was there. Big brother Liam was so very proud to show me 'his baby', it was so stinking cute. As with most 3 year olds he wasn't quite into the picture taking thing - that is until he pulled out his camera to help me! I have to get one of these camera's for my boys so they'll leave my iPhone alone! We took a few pictures with his camera then he decided he'd pose for a family shot but only if everyone got snuggle up under his Thomas the Train blanket that his superbly talented Mama made. Heart.melts. We moved on and Mom and Dad realized pretty quickly that being silly was the only way we were gonna get big brother to stay 'in it'. Lots of parents get frustrated when we get to this point but really, it's perfect! Being yourselves, being silly and not expecting 'the perfectly posed' image usually ends up creating the best images of all... and I think this session was no exception. Loved the family shots, loved the goofy shots, and as always loved, loved, loved my itty bitty newborn shots. I hope you all do too!
